This is an archived project, it was created in 2016 for Butler (a really cool agency in Austin, Texas) for CollegeBoard. You know, the AP/Advanced Placement people? The brief was to create a bunch of interviews that were to take place on the conference floor, while hundreds of high school AP teachers browsed the exhibits.
Back then, this posed some problems and one very big advantage. First, the advantage: seeing movement in the background really helped convey the energy of the conference. Second, the problems: it was a noisy place! Also, our budget was very tight. So this was a two-person shoot.
The interviews helped Butler Bros' client tell the stories they wanted to tell. It was a blast watching these very dedicated teachers tell us about their personal stories. In some cases, it was very emotional and cathartic. These teachers LOVE helping their students!
Below is the cutdown version of the project and what our client had to say about working with us. We loved working with them, too! Not just because they took us to Disneyland's Tiki Bar after the shoot, either. Thanks guys!
Our client needed to shoot interviews at an event that was out of town for both our agency and for them. Patrick was a huge help on the ground, scoping out the site and making recommendations about how to best capture the footage and ensure the best, most strategic results. Patrick took extra time and care to deliver a finished product that was well-loved by our client, hanging with us through feedback from multiple parties that extended out over time. His work is of the highest quality, the experience seamless, and I would recommend Patrick to other creative agencies looking for a director/production partner.
